Paul Edy continues our series on the Jesus story, speaking about the seven signs of John found in John's gospel. Where the synoptic gospels focused on what Jesus did, John seeks to reveal who Jesus is. 

These seven signs are: 

• Turning Water Into Wine (John 2:1-12)
• Healing the Nobleman's Son (John 4:46-54)
• Healing the Man at the Pool (John 5:1-11)
• Feeding of the 5,000 (John 6:1-15)
• Walking on Water (John 6:16-21)
• Healing a Man Born Blind (John 9:1-12)
• Resurrecting Lazarus (John 11)

Through these signs, Jesus reveals his identity as the image of the invisible God.

Pierre continues the Jesus Story series and asks the question "What did Jesus know for certainty that we struggle to even believe that made his life so incredibly impactful?"

In answering this question, Pierre touches on trials, temptation, and the flesh.

"God's goodness is like liquid love pouring down on your life."

In discovering more about Jesus, Ash asks an interesting question, "What could Jesus not do?" He unpacks this question from John 5:30 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me."

Today we have a panel with three generations worth of experience as a grandmother, mother, and child. They discuss the practicalities and common questions around the topic of motherhood and raising children.

"God’s favour doesn’t always look like we think it does. A lot of people ask for God’s favour and turn around expecting favours from God, that’s not favour, there’s a big difference between the two. God’s favour is the guarantee of his presence and the provision of his power to accomplish his purpose in and through us and our lives." Tyrone takes us to the scriptures to see, not how do we earn favour, but how do we keep it?

Songwriters, worship leaders, and musicians Paul Edy and Thapelo Monareng discuss songwriting from a Biblical foundation and perspective. In their conversation, they cover a variety of questions, including:

• What got them each into songwriting?
• Why even bother writing a song?
• Where should a song come from?
• How important is it to write songs with relevance to your context?

...and much more in both intricate detail and strong reference to Scripture and their own personal experience.

Trevor draws attention to the 3-meter-tall example of Goliath positioned behind him on stage. He then asks us two key questions: What is your battle? How will you win? In the kingdom of God, a battle is never only fought for a person, but a people. Trevor also draws attention to the process of transition, it always starts with adversity which claims illegitimate authority, the only legitimate authority is that ordained by God, which then leads to victory.

Ash talks about an interesting word - "Tetelestai" - the word Jesus used on the cross, which means "It is finished." He explores why Jesus used this word and what it signifies for believers today. He also speaks about how we can never do enough good to do away with sin, God requires perfection, and Jesus is the only way we can achieve that.
