Things have been insane (I feel like I say that a lot) with family activities, work stuff and everyday chaos. However, that hasn't slowed me down from working my way through round one of this year's Oktoberfest Quest. We're almost ready to dive into the next round!

It's some of the big news around Cincinnati... Copper and Flame is closing its doors. It opens up a big conversation about "pour your own beer" bars and why some of us don't really like them. We touch on everything from interaction with other people, and tipping culture.

Of course... that's not all the news from Cincy - both Braxton and Listermann have some big taproom changes happening, and we have to talk about that.

All the while, you know there's a tasty beer in my glass - tonight I'm sipping on Rhinegeist's Sabro Express, a collaboration with Deschutes. It's really good, too... spoiler alert.

I don't actually know what it means to be "country style" - especially when it comes to an Oktoberfest beer... but we drink one. I also let everyone who is on the live stream reply to my Mom's text messages, so that's pretty interesting.

Not only does Oktoberfest Quest keep rocking with a showdown this week, but there's some big news with a little bit of Gatlinburg's drinking culture possibly changing and AB Inbev unloading some more of their brands (which might be a good thing for the culture of those brands.

Every day can be a vacation, and a quick weekend away reminded me of that. To celebrate this week's "vacation" mode, I'm gonna drink a couple of pickle beers... and it's gonna be fun.

I'm a little crazy about Oktoberfest beers, so when they finally start reappearing on shelves I get pretty excited. It also means that the Great OktoberfestQuest showdown returns. With this, we attempt to find my favorite Oktoberfest beer in the city every year.

It's actually a lot harder than you'd think it would be!

On this episode, we pitted HighGrain against Taft's to see who moves on to round two of the bracket!

Anchor Brewing Company was the first... they helped kick off a movement that became craft beer as we know it. It makes it a little strange, and a little painful as they announce their closure this week. We like to hit it all on this show, though... painful or not.

To keep things lighthearted and fun, we also had to talk about the upcoming Oktoberfest season here in Cincinnati, and some new brewery news.
