The Weekly Recharge from Electric Bike Report

We had a lot of comments around what are the Best E-bikes for Seniors.  We discuss that topic specifically and what really is the right type of electric bike based on comfort, weight, ease of use etc...

In this week’s e-bike news we discuss Rad’s new CEO who brings a lot of retail experience from other companies. We look at how the latest tariffs are adding up with 70% total increases affecting smaller components like chains, and we take a look at Orbea’s a new gravel e-bike, the Denna, which has plenty of torque and customization options.

We also check out a coast-to-coast cycling route for those who are feeling up for an epic 4200 mile riding journey (save up that PTO—It won’t be a quick trip!).

One of the biggest news stories this week is the exit of Rad Power Bikes’ CEO Phil Molyneux. While details are scarce, we give our thoughts on what this might mean for the company. 

In this episode, we highlight the gorgeous 112-mile-long George S. Mickelson Trail in South Dakota.

In this week’s episode, we discuss a new bill that would require e-bikes to be licenses, registered, and insured as well as the legality of e-bikes in California.

We also discuss the subject of tariffs is once again at the forefront. The de minimis exemption, previously closed by the Trump administration, has been reopened. In contrast with US policy, the UK has revoked tariffs on e-bikes imported from China. 

Additionally, we visit an e-bike-friendly trail system in beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada.
