The Weekly Stan Up with Mika and Pau

Gabe continues to share with Mika and Pau more about competitive League and Legends and LCK, and in this second part focuses more on what his life is like as an avid fan of esports, balancing following matches with staying on top of school, lurking on Reddit communities, and making music covers for matches.

Want It All by Boris Nonte

For the finale of our series with the Weekly Stan Up's first ever guest, Cwenne shares the struggles of being a Kpop stan, comparing how it was like being a stan almost a decade ago to now, from subtitles to engaging with artists on social media (with all the latest apps!) and joining fan cafes. She also shares some great advice at the end on how to keep going when the going gets tough.

Lion Heart by Girls' Generation

Our Cwenne series continues this weekend and the agenda for this Stan Up is Cwenne's ultimate crossover of sports, translating, Girls' Generation, and Kim Seon Ho: the Kdrama Run On (available on Netflix), about four people who live in different worlds, who have different languages and paces in their lives, and the series is all about how their lives clash as they run on to each other.

I and You by Im Si Wan

For the next two weekends, Pau and Mika are joined by the Weekly Stan Up's first guest (ahem scholar) Cwenne, who shares all things she stans. After a conversation about all things Girls' Generation and following idol groups, Cwenne moves on to her favorite Korean actor: Kim Seon Ho. She shares what made her a fan (clue: it's not Start Up exactly) and even shares some introspection on what she's learned from following one of the Hallyu wave's top stars in this generation.

Mika and Pau depart from last episode's Sky Castle, which "incubated" a lot of new Kdrama stars, and now talk about music label 88rising, which is "incubating" a new generation of Asian artists taking over the pop world.

If you've been listening to our show since the start, you'll know very well Mika's bias for GOT7. Pau and Mika dig a little bit deeper into that -- why do we stan our biases? what do our biases say about us? and how do our biases influence our life?
