    In this latest episode of the Weekly Wrap podcast, Denene Erasmus, editor of Farmer’s Weekly, discusses some of the features from the 7 August issue, which will be in stores from 31 July to 7 August.
    In this week’s issue, Dr Danie Odendaal, director of the Veterinarian Network and veterinary herd health consultant, writes about a complete, 12-month herd management and traceability system that he has developed and implemented for ZZ2’s livestock herds in Limpopo.
    Readers can also learn about a programme being run by the Overberg Renosterveld Conservation Trust, in co-operation with farmers from this part of the Western Cape, to conserve the last remaining pockets of critically endangered Renosterveld, one of the planet’s most threatened habitats.
    Moreover, Erasmus discusses the Makawana Farmers’ Stokvel, a financing initiative that is supporting emerging farmers in Kuruman in the Northern Cape to become commercially successful by promoting savings through bulk purchases of goods such as inputs.
