Triumph or Defeat - Fresh Starts always come with new challenges (Holy week begins with triumphal entry and ends with Crucifixion).

God didn’t bless Solomon to make him wealthy, or famous, or powerful! He blessed him because he trusted what he would do with his wealth, influence, and wisdom. The more we demonstrate a right heart towards God and others, the more the Lord will trust us with His kingdom.

What we consume - we lose.
What we give away - GROWS.

This is is a fundamental principle in God’s Kingdom.

Nehemiah allowed each man to work on the areas of the walls of Jerusalem that were most precious to him. This included the part attached to or the part adjacent to their homes. This unique ownership not only gave purpose to the work, but urgency. If each one of us will do everything we can in our part of the community and Kingdom, the work of the Lord would be done in record time - just like it was in the days of Nehemiah. Let’s start with prayer and then be willing to work to build and protect everything God has given to us.

Joshua and the Israelites have just scored their great military victory of all time. And it has sent shock waves reverberating throughout the Promised Land. But immediately on the heels of this great victory they suffer a humiliating defeat and at the hands of a much smaller adversary. One step forward - two steps back. Do you ever feel that way? Sometimes it is through circumstance completely out of our control, but other times it is our fault. Sin and disobedience will stuff us - and God’s blessing - dead in our tracks. This week, let’s take time to examine our hearts and make sure that we are rightly and fully aligned with God so we can experience His victories in our life uninterrupted.

Abraham left everything he knew and everyone he knew in search of God. God’s promise to him was, "I will lead you and bless you." In the NT He says, "I will never leave you or forsake you." We don’t have to understand everything in life or in God’s kingdom. God wants us to be willing to take leaps of faith in the fulfillment of our lives with him. When someone is willing to do that in the Bible, every time their lives were forever marked and changed and God used them to mark and change their generations for Him.

David said, “this temple is not for mere mortals–it is for the LORD God himself.” The idea of doing something for God meant more to King David than anything else, and he was willing to give not only his life and service, but everything he owned to that end. David is called a man after God’s own heart. What would happen if we really gave ourselves, our careers, our resources, everything fully over to God?

We live to make a difference in the lives of those around us through authentic relationships with Jesus and each other. We love people into deeper levels of relationship with Jesus Christ.
