2011: I come home after school one day and tell my mom something shocking. Something that lit a fire in her soul. Who knew that would lead her into developing an afterschool program at my junior high where she taught/mentored over 40 young girls in the areas of purpose, self esteem, and self worth. Here is where she discovered her God given purpose and anointing: to remind others that they have a purpose. This episode is emotional, powerful, and so encouraging. Go mom!

We are not meant to suffer silently and alone. Whatever your silent struggles may be… Don’t struggle alone. Despite my silent battles, particularly with mental illness shaping my self-perception, I have come to understand this truth: You are who you are because of Christ. He has made you who you are for a purpose. Fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139) so that others can see God in you and know that just because it seems like there are some “limitations” in your life, it doesn’t mean that you aren’t capable.

Your willingness to embrace vulnerability is going to help other people obtain victory in their lives. The things that you are going through, and the things that you have been through, are not for you to just keep to yourself and hold onto. Those things are there to serve as a testimony of what God can do. Don’t be afraid to give those things a voice!
