From the publisher's feed
Is the wellness industry a cult?... Let's talk about it.The Wellness Epidemic pulls back the curtain on the dark side of the wellness industry, exploring how good intentions spiral into…
misinformation, exploitation, and harm. It is hosted by Dr. Kim Peirano, DACM, LAc, a Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, licensed acupuncturist, and new-age cult survivor who believes in evidence-based care, ethics, and integrity in all aspects of medicine. This podcast examines the troubling intersections of alternative wellness, pseudoscience, and the alt-right pipeline. From debunking popular health myths and conspiracy theories to uncovering the cultish tactics of the “Make America Healthy Again” movement, The Wellness Epidemic provides a critical insider’s perspective. We also aim to provide insight into how to utilize the beneficial aspects of the wellness industry safely, from finding an ethical practitioner to balancing your care team. With humor, insight, and unflinching honesty, we ask the hard questions: How did we get here? And how can we reclaim wellness for the betterment of all?
