The Philippines’ Congress just passed the Maritime Zone Act and it is waiting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to sign it into law.  How will this act deter China’s West Philippine Sea claims if China ignores the international tribunal that the act intends to codify?  The short term is that it will not make any difference, but it enshrines the ruling into Philippine law if it is signed.
