Ranae's birthday is in March and her friend Susan heard her say she always wanted to ride a Friesan. Susan went out and found someone who would let us ride her horses. It was a great day and we had a blast! What fantastic horses to ride.
I was able to document the experience and put a video/slide show together. Hope you enjoy it!

On his visit to California we got to meet up with cowboy poet Frank Knight. We were lucky enough to spend the afternoon with Frank sharing experiences and good conversation. We were able to record his favorite poem.

Okay folks, we're not sure if this will work, but we are going to attempt to publish a short video from our team sorting practice. We were able to capture Ranae's first run where Dusty kicks up and you'll get to see how she sits the ordeal. And, you'll get to see my first run with Jessie.
Like most things we've attempted with this podcast, some things work, some things don't. We don't let that stop us from trying.
We hope you get to see the video. If you prefer to watch it on youtube you can check out my channel at:

Ranae and I head out for our second team sorting practice. This session was much different thatn the first. There was a lot more energy in the cow, the horses, even the people. We had a good time and you can hear it.
Special note: Look for our first vidcast, a short video of our first practice run. It should be published later today.

Ranae and I take the horses out for a ride and work on skills that might benefit our Team Sorting. It was almost 80 degrees and we had a lovely ride. We worked on the exercises and had a great time.
Then I talk about my first experience with the Aussie stock whip I just got from Downunder Horsemanship.
We had a celebrity guest help us with the introduction. Can you guess who it is?

On Friday's podcast Ranae explains how she and a friend work through a mild buddy sour problem. She explains some of the exercises she does out on the trail and the results she gets.
Hope you get to spend time with your horses this weekend.
Enjoy!

Ranae and I love to visit Ojai, California. It's a beautiful valley and it's a great place to get away and relax. There's a lot of hiking, tennis, and shopping. We've thought about taking our horses there, but weren't quite sure where to ride. We found the Ojai Valley Trail Riding Company and thought it would be a great idea to take one of their trail rides.
Owner Sue Gruber and trail boss Rob Romero gave us a beautiful, advanced ride through the Ventura River Preserve. Today's podcast was recorded in part on the ride and in part in the car on the way home. We hope you enjoy it.

Thanks to our conversation with Frank Knight, fellow No Worries Club Member, a few weeks ago, when we heard there was a Team Sorting Group here in Bakersfield, we went out to give it a try. The first part of the podcast is recorded in the tack room of our trailer. Hey, it was cold! But we wanted to give you our immediate reactions to the experiece while they were fresh in our memory. You may hear some nickering of horses and other stable sounds in the background.
Then, a few days later, we give you some afterthoughts and goals for our future training exercises. We hope to try Team Sorting again. It was a fun experience and we think our horses enjoyed it.
Our friend Courtney heard we were going to talk about the horse supplement she sells through her website http://thextrascoop.com/ , ThextraScoop. Check out Karbo Combo+ and if you decide to order use DUHPodcast as a coupon code and get $5 Off. We appreciate Thextrascoop supporting the podcast.
