But if we look at it carefully, we see it was a picture of the father sending his son Jesus up the mountain to be the ultimate sacrifice for all on the cross, the substitute for you and me as the fulfillment and sacrifice for our sins. It is a picture of what happened over two thousand years later, on the same mountain in Jerusalem where the cross was.

Come along with Jesus on the Road to Emmaus and take a closer look at Isaiah chapter 53.  George remembers going to Seattle and seeing the actual Isaiah scroll found near the Dead Sea. This scroll was found and the scroll he saw dates back to at least 150 years before Christ was born in Bethlehem. In the Seattle museum, it was opened up to the famous Isaiah 53, "The Suffering Servant". George talks about how standing there in front of that scroll and reading it, changed his life.
