This week Siouxsie sits down with her longtime BFF Sterling Slyce, the Buddhist Stripper! Sterling and Siouxsie met in high school and have been on very different journeys since then. While Siouxsie toured with bands, Sterling adventured to Nepal and began a spiritual journey in Buddhism. Somehow, they both ended up doing sex work. Sterling’s blog, Hustle Meditations, offers a fresh take on sex worker memoir, framing her work in Portland strip clubs as an integral part of her spiritual practice.

Sterling Slyce is a Portland stripper, poet, and muse. She believes in the power of awakening to the present moment as positive social action. She is Buddhist, and has dedicated herself to the way of the Bodhisattva, which is a path of developing virtue for the benefit of all beings. She is a passionate student of embodiment and practices dance, yoga and sexuality as vehicles for liberation. This playful tease considers herself a Professional Distraction.
