Lily Alsteen was born and raised in Rhinelander, Wis., and graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 2024 with degrees in professional communication and English. She is a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) and grew up surrounded by Deaf people and culture, shaping who she is today.During her time at UWSP, she was an intern for University Communications and Marketing, worked for Campus Activities and Student Engagement and was Vice President of Sign Language Club. Soon after, she began her career at her hometown TV station, WJFW Newswatch 12 as a reporter. In only one year, she has had the opportunity to wear many hats, serving as a producer and anchor for all of WJFW’s broadcasts. The job has given her the opportunity to meet hundreds of new people and do one of her favorite things, tell stories.
