The Wild Wild West is a Western slash espionage slash science fiction slash steam punk television series that's basically what happens when you combine James Bond antics with old time-y costumes. The series stars Robert Conrad as Secret Service agent Jim West, and Ross Martin and his partner-in-fighting-ridiculous-crimes Artemus Gordon.

This show schwirsheled around genre with the enthusiasm of a skilled Frisco card sharpie shuffling cards. So today, we’re going to talk about two episodes that play with the concepts of crime and mystery.

"The Night of the Returning Dead" was the fifth episode of the show's lauded second season, airing for the first time on October 14, 1966. This episode features a special guest star: Renaissance man and Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr. "The Night of the Tottering Tontine" is the sixteenth episode of the show's second season, having aired on January 6, 1967. That episode is the show's take on an Agatha Christie mystery, by way of some creative accounting and outrageous architecture.

Listen to Áine and Kevin lasso topics like our dog’s similarity to a M*A*S*H character, financial planners, and the most and least talented members of the Rat Pack.
