  • the windy bog road of motherhood: Deep Listening

Angelina and Anne-Marie discuss their 'recording studio' AGAIN!! This time Angelina is patting herself on the back for her 'ingenius idea' to use the ironing board as a desk instead of hauling in a table to the utility room every week. Eventually, the women settle down to the serious business of the day and shift the conversation to the concept of deep listening, which they describe as listening without distractions or preconceived notions. They share personal anecdotes about the challenges of deeply listening to their children and others and the importance of staying calm and not geting caught up in the stories in their own heads. They also mention the tendency to compare and one-up others' stories, which they consider to be a form of shallow listening.

NOTE: AI introduced the concept of 'shallow' listening and as Angelina & Ann- Marie are quite taken with it, listen out for them using it in the future.
