Yes, an episode on wudu — but hear us out! When did wudu become less of a means to purify oneself before God, and more of an inconvenience? How can rethinking your wudu actually put ease and tranquility into your life? How can you actualize the truth that Allah is accessible to you NOW, with this simple, yet beautiful act?
Join Imam Wisam Sharieff and co-host Jawaad Khan as they discuss "Postures of Purity," the third in our series of 12 courses-peaks-quests-and-more. Listen in as they reflect on the realities of makeup, socks, and just not wanting to get wet, as barriers to this act of purity. Hear them delve into how to access this simple ritual differently, and gain more from each experience. Finally, take in advices on the benefit of wudu as learned over and over again in our traditions.
Note, a narration is mentioned toward the end, here is the full context of it: Abu Hurairah narrated that Allah's Messenger (s) said: "Shall I tell you that for which Allah will wipe out your sins, and raise your ranks?" They said, "Of course Allah's Messenger!" He said: "Performing Wudu well in difficulty...[and several other acts]." (Tirmidhi)
On this hadith, it's been said that Ibn Rajab al-Hanbal comments "Performing Wudu’ in the intense cold is one of the best actions."
