Hermione Granger refuses to hide. With Alpha pheromones thick outside the Gryffindor portrait and rival suitors posturing in the halls, she charts a careful path to an abandoned classroom in the Turris Magnus to say what must be said to Draco Malfoy. The door stays open, the apology lands hard, and an Arithmancy partnership becomes a cold agreement to work apart so her secret is not exposed. In the library, impeccable notes from Peter Selwyn tempt her focus while Anthony Goldstein’s questions cut to the bone of consent, biology, and choice. All the while, the scent of Malfoy clings like a shield, keeping other Alphas at bay as house points plummet and tempers flare. By day’s end, Hermione chooses composure over instinct, scholarship over spectacle, and a lonely seat in the back of class while Draco looks away.

Hermione Granger takes her first suppressant and steps into an experiment that will define her freedom. Under McGonagall’s cool supervision, Neville Longbottom returns to apologize and to test whether Alpha command can bend Hermione’s will. It does not. The potion steadies her mind, her fists prove faster than instinct, and the lesson leaves both of them changed. When Professor Vector reveals that Hermione’s Arithmancy partner was Draco Malfoy, and that he has asked to be reassigned, the cut bites deeper than she expects. In the Great Hall, eyes follow her, Alphas drift closer, and a polished Ravenclaw named Selwyn makes his intentions known while Draco looks away and sits with his own. By nightfall, Hermione must decide how to carry a scent that will not wash off, how to protect her future in a school that suddenly feels like a hunting ground, and how to face the boy who fed her fruit and called her his.

This chapter is a quiet, character-driven listen that sits with Hermione after her first heat. She wakes to find Draco gone, the scent that clings will not wash away, and a difficult conversation with Professor McGonagall follows about consent, possible consequences for Draco, daily suppressants from Slughorn, and how rare an unbound Omega at Hogwarts truly is, with Molly Weasley, Druella Rosier, and Cassandra Ollivander as historical touchpoints. Hermione weighs autonomy, pregnancy, and marriage against the pull of instinct, accepts staff support, and agrees to a supervised apology with Neville. A book titled Soulbound hints at the choices ahead.

From Draco Malfoy’s point of view, we step into an abandoned Hogwarts corridor, a wary Slytherin on probation, and Alpha senses turned up too high. Daphne and Astoria are circling, Hermione Granger is mysteriously absent from Arithmancy, and a thread of grief-tinged memory pulls Draco toward faint sobs behind heavy wards. What he finds is Hermione in the depths of her first heat, hiding under a freezing shower, and a choice that forces Draco to confront instinct, history, and consent in a moment that will define everything that follows.
