Traditional Worship | Dr. Ed Robb |
It was the prophet Isaiah who first introduced us to one of the most beautiful words found in the Old Testament — Emmanuel. When translated, it means “God with us.” The word not only holds historical and sacred significance to all of God’s people, but it also symbolizes God’s divine presence and protection for both the present and future.
Emmanuel conveys a sense of promise and belonging, of care and comfort, of courage and optimism. As we find ourselves in this season of Advent, it is so important for us to know that even now God is with us in our waiting, our chaos, our celebration for the gift of the Messiah, and most of all, for the love He brings to all people. We are delighted that you have joined us for worship in this sacred Advent season, and we hope you feel the love and warmth of our congregation. Indeed, God is with us!
