WARREN & FLICK Jacob Warren plays double bass, while Grant Flick plays violin, tenor guitar, and nyckelharpa. With Jacob’s classical foundation and Grant’s experience in bluegrass and jazz, their contrasting backgrounds give this collaboration a unique and compelling musical narrative.   

LUKE WINSLOW-KING is a guitarist and songwriter who combines Mississippi delta blues, folk music, traditional jazz, and roots rock & roll. His songs are rustic and urbane, elegant and entirely his own. Winslow-King finished cutting his seventh full length record, ‘IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK’ .

STEPHANIE URBINA JONES and her history-making Honky Tonk Mariachi are blowing hearts and minds wide open with a new style fondly called ‘country with chili peppers’. From the hallowed stage of the Grand Ole Opry to the two-stepping dance halls of Texas to festivals around the world, Jones tours internationally including appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Magic Town Music Fest in Mexico, Festival Country Rendezvous in France, Country Gold in Japan, Gstaad Festival in Switzerland and the Belladrum Tartan Heart Fest in Scotland.   

ALEX MILLER is a Kentucky boy from Lancaster who caught global attention from American Idol. Most recently, signing with Nashville-based Billy Jam Records for his soon-to-be-released debut album, MILLER TIME. Performing professionally since an early age, including as a WoodSongs Kid, he’s opening for Hank Jr, Josh Turner, Rhonda Vincent, Shenandoah and others.   

George Fields is a 15-year-old from Stamping Ground, Kentucky. He is a sophomore at Western Hills High School where he plays trumpet with the school band; however, his true passion is bluegrass music. George grew up listening to bluegrass and began playing the mandolin at age 7. At age 10, George started playing his signature instrument, the five-string banjo; and in the last year, he has also learned to play the fiddle. He enjoys attending bluegrass jams with his father and younger brother.

MIKE LOVE is a musician devoted to revolution through sound. Born in O’ahu, Hawaii to a family of musicians, he’s used music for conversation as long as he can remember. He comes from a convergence of influences bound by their common ambition to inspire positive changes. He releases his music independently on his own Love Not War Records label and fuses a variety of influences including progressive and classic rock, soul, blues, flamenco, jazz, and classical to his message based music.  

Soraya Sullivan (guitar, age 16) and Luciya Sullivan (banjo, age 14) hail from Evanston, Illinois. The Sullivan Sisters have dazzled audiences since childhood with their unique blend of sister harmonies and fast bluegrass picking. Born and raised in North Carolina, they developed their love for American folk and bluegrass music at a young age, when they began guitar and banjo lessons at ages eight and six. They have been named prize winners at the Galax Old Fiddlers’ Convention and the Mount Airy Bluegrass and Old-Time Fiddlers' Convention. Now teens living in the Chicago area, the Sullivan Sisters have performed in the Chicago Bluegrass Legends concert series, the Banjo After Dark series, at the Old Town School of Folk Music, the Evanston Farmers’ Market, and other area venues.

BRUCE SUDANO has established a burgeoning reputation for his songwriting for many popular artists including his late wife Donna Summers, Michael Jackson, and Dolly Parton. He is now focusing his time on crafting elaborate stories with uplifting messages, funky instrumentals, and stunning creative direction, Bruce Sudano’s discography is unlike any other. His most recent EP was released in October titled ODE TO NIGHTINGALE.  

MIKE COMPTON has spent decades touring and recording with Sting, Greg Allman, and Elvis Costello, to acoustic legends like John Hartford, Doc Waston, Ralph Stanley, and David Grisman. Native to Mississippi, he is a true master of the modern American mandolin and a premier interpreter of roots and Americana musical styles, ranging from rockers and urban hipsters to die-hard country, folk and bluegrass fans.

Candice Gunn is 11 years old from Benton, KY and plays guitar and yodels. 

JOHN McEUEN the co-founding member of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and one of America’s premier roots musicians and story tellers returns to WoodSongs for a special solo performance of music. From organizing the historic WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN album to his new autobiography there is plenty to explore!  

FLAT RIVER BAND is a trio of brothers, strong musicians with just as strong vocals. The bluegrass and country group carries the tradition of the Eagles, The Gatlin Brothers and the family groups of the bluegrass world.

Ashlynn Smith is a 12 year old guitarist from Louisville featured on a couple songs with John McEuen

RICHARD SMITH the world renowned guitarist from England makes his WoodSongs debut! His repertoire includes original compositions, gypsy swing, Bach, and Beatles. He has shared the stage with a virtual “who’s who“ of guitar wizardry, including Les Paul, Sam Bush, and Béla Fleck. Expect musical fireworks!  

PARKER HASTINGS returns to as one of the youngest players to be named National Thumbpicking Champion. The Kentucky musicians was first on WoodSongs as a 13 year old who played note for note a duet with Australian icon master Tommy Emmanuel, Parker is now a a recognized player in hw own right.

Caleb Morae is an 11 year old pianist from Lexington, KY.

CHONTADELIA is a 7-piece band rooted in the iconic marimba de chonta style and steeped with Afro-Colombian culture, identity, and history. Originally from Bogota, Colombia, they arrive on the scene with a soundscape full of color, distortions, twists, and a lot of funk. From dancing the night away to shedding light on issues happening to their communities, CHANTADELIA leaves no one indifferent.

In the past few years, a welcome resurgence of wonderful artists of color who love country music has appeared on WoodSongs. Country music has been made by and loved by Black people since its conception. Black Opry wants to change that. For just as long, that community has been overlooked by fans and the industry. The artists appearing on this Special Event Broadcast include The Kentucky Gentlemen, Jett Holden, Roberta Lea, and Tylar Brant plus Black Opry founder Holly G.

EMISUNSHINE and the Rain She is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter and ukulele virtuoso from East Tennessee, who has been attracting national attention since age 9 with appearances on “Today,” NBC’s “Little Big Shots,” “American Idol,” the Grand Ole Opry, WoodSongs and more. Her latest album is “Diamonds,”

COREY HARRIS is a powerful singer/songwriter and accomplished guitarist. Starting in New Orleans then Cameroon, West Africa, he has found his niche in the world of blues by focusing on an original sound influenced heavily by blues, reggae, soul, rock, and West African music. He’s been featured with artists such as BB King, Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, R.L.Burnside, Ali Farka Toure, Dave Matthews Band, Tracy Chapman, Olu Dara, Wilco, and others.
