True Religion/Spirituality is 1. manifested by trials, and 2. demonstrated as from the heart, the emotions. Edwards is experiencing the Great Awakening, seeing the very true and the very false. He wants his people to know the difference. Oh how we need this today!

Revival. We long for it. But often it is accompanied by much evil, and the aftermath of that is a spurning of true religion altogether. (Note. He uses the Biblical definition of religion and religious, not the current usage...)

Will Jesus come soon, or quickly? The Greek bears both ideas, when and how. What about a third temple? Is it in the works? Paul says it will be here in the last days...

Finally in this series we go to King Jesus and see what He had to say about grace, security, salvation. Our conclusion is no conclusion but a call to seek out these things. Some day we will come into the perfect unity He promised.
