Have you ever felt hopeless? Stuck in a bad job or you can't find a job and you feel like you'll never get hired; a relationship that is so bad you don't think it can be saved; credit card debt that just piles up you feel like you'll never be able to pay it off. Have you ever felt hopeless? Paul gets stuck in a terrible storm at sea and it seems hopeless, but God speaks words of hope in the middle of a hopeless situation. And he speaks words of hope thus today too.

Today we are celebrating our Heavenly Father. We get to listen in as Jesus tells a story about our Heavenly Father that reveals His overwhelming grace and mercy toward his children. Have you ever felt like you have sinned too much for God to take you home? Have you ever felt like you're a better person than the guy across the room? This story reveals our Heavenly Father's love for all of His rebellious children (even the ones who don't think they are).

That's when we wait for God Waiting for something we have been hoping for can seem like it takes forever. But waiting with Hope in God and His promises means we know He will do what He says.

Have you ever invited a friend to church and they responded with, "No way, I could never come to your church, God would probably hit me with lightning!" We want everyone to know that everyone is welcome. You are welcome. Jesus demonstrates this for his best friends by telling us that infants and children are our faith examples. We get to believe like little children. Everyone who believes in Jesus has the right to be called children of God and He welcomes us, hugs us in His arms, and blesses us by grace. You are welcomed by God!

Have you ever felt unforgivable? Like the thing you've said or done is so awful that no one would forgive you? Or, have you ever felt like you are better than the person next to you? Like maybe the person who has sinned doesn't deserve to be forgiven? Either way, Jesus has a story to tell us that reveals how He wants to treat sinners, and that's good news for all of us. We are all sinners. We all need forgiveness You are Forgiven by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Do you ever feel like you're not enough? Not good enough, not strong enough, not attractive enough, not smart enough? The list goes on and on. Or have you questioned you worth? God has an answer for those questions. You Are Valued. Jesus have it all, everything he had to redeem us. When we are tempted to assign our own value, our Creator God tells us what we are worth.

Do you ever feel like nobody loves you? Do you ever think, "I don't care." Or have you felt like your friends don't care. Or maybe you realize you don't love yourself?  You are loved.
