What is motivation------Did you know there are many words used to describe it-- Here are a few- boost, encouragement, goad, impetus, incentive, incitement, instigation, momentum, impulse, provocation, spur, stimulant, stimulus, just to name a few.----As we face the message before us it is good to contemplate those words, for all too often, motivation to see souls saved is eroded from our lives until we no longer care. Yet, Jesus cared in John 4 and He still cares. This may be just the right time for you to hear this message. It certainly was for the disciples who really were not motivated to see these people before them saved. So it is our Lord sought to breath His motivation into their hearts. May it be so with us today-----John 4-35 -Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'-- Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest---John 4-36 -And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.--John 4-37 -For in this the saying is true- 'One sows and another reaps.'--John 4-38 -I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored- others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.-----Join us as we continue on this journey together through the Gospel of John. Jesus Christ lived with the work of the Father as His highest goal to the very end of his life. This work was the salvation of souls.----Looking at this we should come to the realization of our highest goal in life, the salvation of souls. First our own, then as many as we can possibly reach in our lifetime.----John 4-31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, -Rabbi, eat.---John 4-32 But He said to them, -I have food to eat of which you do not know.---John 4-33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, -Has anyone brought Him anything to eat-----John 4-34 Jesus said to them, -My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.----Thus we join with Jesus in living to finish our highest goal.
