Then Nicholas Cortesi, Principal Attorney at Law for Union Legal Services, joins Ed and Phil to talk about Union Legal Services and how their goal is to provide union members and their families with general legal advice and guidance to resolve any legal problems and/or answer any legal questions. Next, Ed and Phil are joined by International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150’s Assistant to the President Martin Durkan and Local 150 Operator Braulio Pratida. Listen in while they discuss details surrounding their strike against QSL America over seven charges of unfair labor practices. To close out the show, the guys also discuss union related news pertaining to the Chicago Fire Fighters Union Local 2’s concern regarding the poor condition of equipment that the Chicago Fire Department uses, the Glenn Valley Foods layoffs and the Workers’ Mic Built to Last episode which aired on WGN TV this past Saturday, August 2nd.
