What happens when you stop trying to figure everything out on your own?
In today’s episode of The Working Word, David VanderBloomen is joined again by his son, Gavin, to reflect on Proverbs 15:22–33. This passage reminds us that plans often fail without wise counsel—but with trusted advisers, humility, and collaboration, we can make better decisions and grow as leaders.
David shares the importance of building a personal board of advisers: people who will encourage you, challenge you, tell you the truth, and provide wisdom when leadership feels lonely. You do not need to know everything, but you do need the humility to surround yourself with people who can strengthen the areas where you fall short.
Gavin closes today’s episode with the traditional Irish blessing:
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rainfall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
Scripture: Proverbs 15:22–33, Revised Standard Version
