What does true maturity look like in faith and leadership?

In today’s episode of The Working Word, David Vander Bloomen and his son Gavin reflect on Philippians 3:12–16 and Paul’s reminder that none of us has fully arrived. Spiritual maturity begins when we recognize our imperfections, learn from the past, and continue pressing forward toward Christ.

The same principle applies in business and leadership. Great leaders do not pretend to know everything. They acknowledge their weaknesses, surround themselves with people who are stronger in those areas, and remain willing to learn. Sometimes the best thing a leader can say is, “I don’t know, but I’ll find someone who does.”

Recognizing where we fall short is not weakness. It is the starting point for growth. When we humbly rely on God and the people He has placed around us, we become better leaders, professionals, and followers of Christ.
