Before Jesus was born, women were not treated well. Women were not given schooling. Women were given in marriage at a young age and legally a husband's property. Men could cheat on their wives all they wanted but wives faced severe punishments for cheating. Jesus, the world's salvation, entered the world by the virgin Mary and treated women with dignity. Wherever Christianity spread, women began to be treated with dignity.
