The World of Eora is a news & lore podcast about the fantasy setting created by Obsidian Entertainment for their cRPG series, Pillars of Eternity, and their upcoming action RPG: Avowed.

This week's episode I dive into the in-game "History of Eora" anthology, which as been requested for quite a while. I don't do all 16 entries of these books in this episode, I just pick the ones I think could be related to Avowed / Living Lands in some way. It gets pretty interesting, and we draw some connections which might be seen in the game of Avowed.

I *will* be doing future episodes on the other 12, but likely in just 4-book segments, done topically.

In this week's episode I revisit the lore of the Aedyr Empire, its people, its history, and their language. This is largely a summation of lore that I did a few years ago (check out Ep. 4-6, and some afterwarsd) about this. However, with the involvement of Aedyr mentioned in the Avowed trailers of recent I decided it was time to give a decent overview in an updated way. So, here's to the Aedyr Empire! This week's episode focuses on Inquisitor Lödwyn, and the paladin order she helps lead, the Steel Garotte. Most of the lore will be about the Paladin order, but we tie it back to the Inquisitor. This lore is also associated to the goddess of Law, Woedica; and the empire of Aedyr. All of which is discussed (a bit) and speculated upon for Avowed. For instance...why did Obsidian choose The Steel Garrote over all the other potential factions? Did they need a Woedican faction? And Aedyran-origin faction? Who knows...

This week's ONE HUNDREDTH episode features a decently in-depth overview of the Avowed Deep Dive, as seen on Xbox's Official Youtube Channel. There's *a lot* to cover here, so I won't even list it all. Suffice it to say, it's all very interesting. There's a good mix of lore and gameplay related discussion today :)

If you're at all interested in the world Avowed takes place in, this episode is a nice one to start in on. We discuss the empire your player character comes from, who the lady with fire-eyes is, and a bit about what might have gone on in the Living Lands (Avowed's setting) a long time ago.

Random side note, I had recorded some thoughts on the Tango & Arkane closures but removed them just because I don't think it was necessary for me to do so.
