True confession time. I recently hurt my neck, overdoing things at the keyboard. And it was easy to see that I had fallen back into an old pattern of fulfilling other people's needs before listening to my own.
(The good news is, I have a very good chiropractor and I am following instructions to the letter; and I was recently challenged by someone to pick up my old podcast and move it to Substack. And I do mean old – we're talking 2021. 🤪 That means I've been dictating to my phone a lot, and suddenly doing a podcast seems like a really good idea, so here we are.)
The point of the story is that, given the fact that I have four planets in Libra (including my Sun), it would have been incredibly easy for me to tell this as a warning about how being a people pleaser led to my injury.
But that's not actually true.
Because it's not true that Libra is naturally a people pleaser, in that way.
So in today’s episode, I'm out to bust some myths about this surprisingly potent sign - for all the other folks who keep hearing (or saying, of themselves) ‘oh, Libra is SUCH an indecisive people-pleaser’.

There are two paths to any kind of change. One path is fully empress-ey and therefore easier and more effective. The other path is waaaaaay harder, less effective - and it’s the path most of us have been taught.
If you're ready to take the easier, less-travelled path, let me help with that. www.janettedalgliesh.com

Most of us were raised to run our lives from principles of judgement, guilt, shame or even brutal self-flagellation. Yes, an empress must be fierce and even willing to harm sometimes. But she also needs a powerful core of compassion and care for her 'citizens' (aka the aspects of her own psyche). Take a lesson from Titus and Domition. And if you need help figuring out how to put this into practice in your own life - come ask me! www.janettedalgliesh.com
Is it ever okay to cause harm? The answer is more nuanced than a simple yes/no, and the more you explore and appreciate the nuances, the more you unleash your most potent empress self.
If this episode raises any discomfort for you, I'd love to support you. Check me out at www.janettedalgliesh.com for info about how I can help.
In which I briefly cover why I use the symbolic language of astrology, in the tradition of Carl Jung. The stars do not dictate who you are – rather, they reveal the astonishing glory of your empire.
