Back from a mini-vacation and ready to go!! This week, I do my best to provide an abridged history of one of Georgia's most well know landmarks, tourist attractions and Ozark filming location, Lake Lanier. Abridged not only for the sake of time, but with the hopes that this will encourage you to dig deeper into this history that isn't openly talked about. This September will mark the 100th anniversary of the events that sparked this all too familiar yet lesser known American history lesson. It is my belief that if we acknowledge, learn about and discuss our history and it's effects on our present, then we can learn from it and build towards a better future. Idealistic? The focus of the episode this week is the issue of rampant gun violence. Not just the recent rash of mass shootings, but the issue as a whole. I provide some facts and figures then ask what's the solution? I don't have it, but I do know we need one. I extend an invitation to any and all listeners to join me on a future episode to have a group discussion and offer up potential realistic and sustainable solutions to this issue.
