Why I look at the whole woman. Body, mind and everything in between.
Your ovaries don't exist in a little box all by themselves.
Neither does your uterus.
Your reproductive system belongs to a whole woman. A woman who eats, sleeps, digests, works, thinks, feels, grieves, loves, worries and has an entire health history that existed long before she started trying for a baby.
Yet when fertility becomes difficult, the focus can become incredibly narrow.
Eggs. Ovaries. Fallopian tubes. Sperm. Hormone levels.
Of course these things matter.
But what about the woman they belong to?
In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, we're widening the lens and looking at what holistic fertility really means to me.
We explore:
Women usually come into my world because they want one thing.
They want their baby.
I never want to lose sight of that.
But while we're working towards that dream, other things can begin to change too.
Your cycle might change. Long-standing symptoms may improve. You might sleep better, feel calmer or become more resilient. Your relationship may start to feel like a relationship again rather than something dictated by ovulation dates and fertility apps.
Sometimes the breakthrough is physical.
Sometimes it's emotional.
Sometimes it's having intercourse with your partner because you want to, rather than because an app told you to.
And yes, sometimes it's the message telling me there's finally a positive pregnancy test.
Every one of those moments belongs to your journey.
Because holistic fertility isn't about doing more.
It's about understanding more. Listening more. And supporting the whole woman rather than constantly working on isolated pieces of her.
A reflection for you
Forget fertility for five minutes and ask yourself:
How am I feeling emotionally?
How is my relationship?
What am I carrying?
What am I pretending doesn't bother me?
What is going well?
What does my body need?
What do I need?
You're not trying to diagnose yourself or create another list of things to fix.
You're simply widening the lens.
The Wright Fertility Compass
If this episode has left you thinking, “Nobody has ever looked at all of this together for me,” that's exactly why I created The Wright Fertility Compass.
It's a one-to-one session where we step back and look at your individual fertility picture. Your cycle, wider health, fertility history, emotional experience, what you've already tried and where it may be useful to focus next.
You'll leave with a personalised map rather than another generic fertility checklist.
Because you are unique. And your journey to motherhood deserves a unique approach.
When month after month passes without a positive pregnancy test, it can be very easy to turn against your own body.
Why can't my body do this?
You start looking at your hormones, your periods, your ovaries, your age and every little symptom as evidence that something is wrong with you.
And after fertility tests, appointments, diagnoses, miscarriage or failed treatment, that feeling can become even stronger.
But what if your body isn't broken?
What if, instead of fighting it, fixing it or forcing it to perform, you started becoming curious about what it might need?
In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, we're changing the conversation from “What's wrong with my body?” to “What is my body trying to tell me?”
We explore:
This isn't about pretending fertility problems don't exist.
And it isn't about ignoring medical diagnoses or investigations.
It's about recognising that a fertility diagnosis doesn't define the health, capability or potential of your entire body.
Your body is constantly adapting, responding and communicating.
Sometimes we just need to start listening differently.
Instead of asking:
“Why is my body doing this to me?”
perhaps we can begin asking:
“What does my body need from me?”
That small change in question can completely change the relationship you have with your fertility journey.
Because your body isn't the enemy in this story.
It's the body you're asking to conceive, carry and nurture your future baby.
Perhaps it's time to stop fighting it and start working with it.
What does your period actually tell you about your fertility?
Maybe you've always had painful periods, heavy bleeding, spotting or clots and assumed that's simply *normal for you*. Or perhaps you've been so focused on ovulation and getting pregnant that the period itself has become something you barely think about, other than the disappointment of seeing it arrive each month.
But your menstrual cycle can give us valuable information about what's happening in your body.
In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, I'm taking you beyond simply asking whether your cycle is "regular" and looking at what a healthy period can actually look like.
We'll explore:
* What we can learn from the length and pattern of your menstrual cycle
* Period pain and why common doesn't necessarily mean optimal
* What spotting, flow, colour and clots may tell us
* Why your period is about more than whether or not you're ovulating
* How I use information about a woman's cycle as part of the bigger picture when supporting fertility with homeopathy
* Why two women with the same fertility diagnosis may need completely different support
Most importantly, this isn't about giving you another fertility checklist or encouraging you to analyse every trip to the bathroom.
I don't want you analysing your period. I want you noticing it.
Your body gives you information every month. When we learn to listen to those signs rather than dismissing them, we can start to understand our health and fertility in a very different way.
Because your reproductive system doesn't exist in isolation.
Your period is part of the bigger picture of you.
### Want to understand your own fertility picture?
If you've been told everything looks "normal", but you still feel there are pieces of the puzzle you're missing, The Wright Fertility Compass is a one-to-one session where we take a deeper look at your individual fertility story, including the physical, emotional and wider factors that may deserve more attention.
You'll leave with greater clarity, direction and a personalised map of what to explore next.
You’re taking the supplements. Tracking ovulation. Watching what you eat. Googling every symptom. Timing intercourse. Checking your temperature. Reading the books, listening to the podcasts and doing everything you possibly can to improve your chances of getting pregnant.
So why isn’t it working?
If you’re someone who has always achieved results by working harder, researching more and finding a solution, fertility can feel especially brutal.
Because this is one area of life that doesn’t always respond to more effort.
In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, we’re talking about the exhausting cycle of trying to do fertility “perfectly” - and what happens when trying to control the outcome starts taking over your life.
I’ll share some of my own experience of trying to regain control after miscarriage, and we’ll explore tracking, supplements, OPKs, BBT and that ever-growing mental fertility checklist.
None of these things are inherently bad. But when your fertility journey becomes another project to manage, optimise and get right, it can leave you feeling as though every month that you don’t conceive is somehow another personal failure.
And it isn’t.
Perhaps the next step isn’t another supplement, another tracker or another thing to add to your list.
Perhaps it’s time to approach your fertility differently.
Because you don’t need to be perfect to get pregnant.
You’ve had the tests. Your results have come back “normal”. You’re ovulating. Perhaps you’ve even been told there’s no obvious reason why you shouldn’t be getting pregnant.
And yet… you’re still not pregnant.
So where do you go from here?
In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, I’m exploring one of the most frustrating diagnoses in fertility: unexplained infertility.
Because unexplained doesn’t necessarily mean there’s nothing more to explore. Sometimes it simply means we haven’t looked in the right places - or asked the right questions - yet.
We’ll talk about the difference between normal and optimal, why your reproductive system can’t be viewed in isolation, and some of the clues your body may already be giving you through your periods, energy, digestion, sleep, emotional wellbeing and overall health.
I’ll also share some of my own fertility story and why my experience of miscarriage ultimately changed the way I look at fertility and health.
This episode isn’t about finding another hundred things for you to worry about or convincing you that you need to “fix” yourself.
It’s about becoming curious.
Because when we stop looking only at why you’re not pregnant and start looking at you as a whole person, we can begin asking very different questions.
Unexplained doesn’t have to mean unexplainable.
The Wright Way to Natural Fertility is the podcast for women who know there has to be more to fertility than tests, tracking, supplements and being told to “just keep trying.”
Hosted by fertility coach and homeopath Magda Wright, this podcast explores fertility through a different lens, looking at the whole woman, not just her reproductive system.
After experiencing three miscarriages herself, Magda discovered first-hand that being told everything is “normal” doesn’t necessarily mean everything is optimal. That journey led her to explore the connection between hormones, physical health, emotional wellbeing, stress, past experiences and the body’s innate wisdom, and ultimately changed the direction of her life.
With nearly 20 years’ experience supporting women on their fertility journeys, Magda believes that unexplained infertility doesn’t mean unexplainable, and that your body isn’t failing you. It may simply be asking you to listen differently.
Each episode explores topics including natural fertility, unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriage, hormone health, healthy menstrual cycles, egg quality, IVF, stress and fertility, homeopathy, emotional wellbeing and the mind-body connection.
You’ll discover how to stop fighting your body, start understanding the signals it’s giving you and take a more individualised, holistic approach to preparing for pregnancy.
This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about discovering what your body needs.
If you’re tired of hearing that everything looks fine when you know something doesn’t feel right, or you’re wondering whether there’s another path, you’re in the right place.
Nurture your mind. Nourish your body. Conceive with confidence.
