  • XZRS: Brian Haughton- History's Mysteries
History's Mysteries - History's Mysteries is an investigation into 35 archaeological mysteries from across the globe, organized by geographical region. As with Brian Haughton's previous book Hidden History, this work separates its collection of enthralling ancient riddles into three sections: Mysterious Places, Unexplained Artefacts, and Enigmatic People. The choice of subjects was made to include a wide range of cultures and a mixture of both the well known and the relatively obscure. Consequently you will read about India's celebrated Taj Mahal and the biblical Temple of Solomon, as well as the little known Royston Cave, in the UK, the infamous Rennes-le-Château, in France, and the forgotten site of Great Zimbabwe, in South Africa. But what constitutes an ancient mystery? The ancient world will more often than not be mysterious by its very nature. We can excavate buildings, artefacts, even sometimes texts, but we cannot know how the people of these ancient societies felt, what they believed or what motivated them to behave in the way they did. Nevertheless, modern science is allowing us the kind of access to secrets of the past which was only dreamt of a few decades ago. DNA studies, for example, of modern inhabitants of parts of Syria, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, Cyprus, and Malta have shown extraordinary connections with the ancient Phoenicians who once had colonies in those areas. Ongoing study, conservation, and sampling of The Uluburun Shipwreck, the remains of a 3,300 year old ship and its extraordinary cargo from the coast of southern Turkey, is discovering fascinating connections between ancient Canaan, Egypt, Mycenaean Greece, Italy and even the Baltic Sea area of Northern Europe. Science alone, however, will not give us a complete picture of the ancient world. But when combined with the study of mythology, folklore and sometimes simply a sharp change of viewpoint when looking back at the ancient world, science can be extremely enlightening. Indeed, it is surprising what can be accomplished by turning oneself off from a technology-obsessed 21st century mindset, for example in terms of understanding what the priorities may have been for the inhabitants of Nabta Play in the Egyptian desert 11,000 years ago, or the builders of Tenochtitlan in Mexico, around 700 years ago. Nevertheless, even if we could somehow project ourselves back into antiquity, one suspects that the magic and mystery which was undoubtedly a part of the everyday lives of many of these ancient civilizations would remain elusive. It is often said by 'alternative' historians that bringing a particularly controversial ancient site or artifact to the attention of the world will 'turn conventional wisdom on its head'. 'Conventional' archaeologists ('conventional' presumably meaning those who have studied and qualified as archaeologists) are criticized for not being open-minded enough to accept new theories and ideas. But, generally this is not the case, witness the (often heated) discussions surrounding genuinely challenging archaeological puzzles such as the extraordinary Turkish site of Göbekli Tepe, the enigmatic 'Venus' figurines of the last Ice Age, the abandonment of Mesa Verde, or the volcanic eruption which destroyed the Mediterranean island of Thera. Spurious 'ancient' artifacts or sites (such as the Oak Island Treasure or The Dendera Lamps) are anything but a challenge to 'conventional' archaeology. The furore surrounding these subjects on the web and in various print publications is the result of speculation based on the preconceived agenda of the writer, and as such has no place in history or archaeology. It is this distinction between genuine and bogus ancient mysteries that History's Mysteries attempts to clarify. Sometimes a few hours research and a generous helping of critical thinking can dispense with anything in the second category. In writing History's Mysteries Haughton has not attempted to justify personal prejudices regarding the e

  • XZRS: Terry James - Nephilim Imperatives
Prophecy expert and lecturer Terry James is the general editor of RaptureReady.com, the #1 prophecy website on the Internet. Founded in 1989, the website receives more than 8 million visitors each month and has more than 4,000 active members. One of the site's main features is the Rapture Index, a constantly updating gauge that measures end-time issues and events in the news. Any event that has biblically prophetic relevance is assigned a ranking. The combined rankings serve as an end-times speedometer, signaling the speed at which the world is moving toward Armageddon. The index has been featured by Time Magazine, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, The Rolling Stone, The Economist, Christianity Today, CNN, the BBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and many others. The "rapture" is an event in Christian eschatology (the study of the end times) in which it is believed that all born-again Christians will be taken from earth into heaven at a specific moment by Jesus Christ, signaling the apocalypse. Its introduction and popularization in Christian belief with books such as the Left Behind series of novels, is relatively recent. The timing of when the rapture will take place is a key point often discussed and debated between denominations and individuals who accept the belief. James is a member of the PreTrib Research Center Study Group and believes that the rapture will occur prior to the seven-year tribulation described in the book of Revelation. The study group is founded by Dr. Tim LaHaye, coauthor of the Left Behind series. In addition to James' work as the editor of Rapture Ready, he is also a prolific author of prophecy-related books including his new book, The Nephilim Imperatives (Anomalos Publishing ISBN 9780978845360 2008) and Are You Rapture Ready? (Penguin, 2004). Other works include Foreshadows of Wrath and Redemption, Forewarning, and Foreshocks of Antichrist published by Harvest House, and Earth's Final Days, Raging Into the Apocalypse, The Triumphant Return of Christ and Storming Toward Armageddon published by New Leaf. In 1993, James lost his eyesight due to a degenerative retinal disease called retinitis pigmentosa. With the aid of Jobs Accessible Word System (JAWS), a voice synthesis program, he is able to write and use the Internet. Prior to losing his eyesight, James worked in the field of marketing and public relations for more than 25 years. James earned a B.A. in advertising design with a minor in political science from University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He and his wife Margaret continue to reside near Little Rock. - www.raptureready.com

  • XZRS: Ann Druffel - UFO Research & Author
UFO researcher and author Ann Druffel dates her interest in the UFO question from 1945 when, as a schoolgirl, she viewed a bright yellowish object, very high in clear blue skies over Long Beach, California. She and her mother, Aileen Walsh McElroy, watched the object as it slowly traveled westerly. After about an hour and one-half, having traveled about 30 degrees from the NNE to the NNW, it then released 15-20 smaller shiny objects, which took varying paths out and away from the main object. Years later, it was determined that this sighting occurred at about the same time the first experimental atom bomb was exploded in New Mexico.Interested in earth mysteries of all kinds, Druffel has researched various aspects of the UFO question and investigated reports of all kinds since 1957. She was one of the first investigators for NICAP, remaining with that organization from April 1957 to 1973. During the NICAP years she became acquainted with the renowned atmospheric physicist, Dr. James E. McDonald, and participated with him in several UFO cases during his six years of UFO research. After NICAP was destroyed by subversive agents from the FBI and CIA who had secretly penetrated into the higher realms of NICAP, Druffel joined the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) with which she is still actively associated as investigator, frequent contributor to their journals and other official capacities. She also joined the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) and contributes articles on California sightings and other UFO subjects to IUR (International UFO Reporter). She was a U. S. consultant and regular contributor for the British research journal FLYING SAUCER REVIEW (FSR) through 2004.

After leaving the zoo, he worked in an exotic pet shop, a reptile rescue centre, and as a gravedigger. In 1995, Freeman began studying zoology at Leeds University. Whilst on holiday from the university, he learned of the CFZ and bought a copy of the Centre's journal Animals & Men, which left him impressed enough to subscribe and begin contributing.
