Laurence Browne was born in the UK in 1951 to parents living in the Far East and spent much of his childhood there, though at the age of nine was sent to boarding school in England. After completing secondary school in 1969 (Radley College, Oxford), he came to Australia working mainly as a teacher of English as a second language. He is married with two daughters and lives in suburban Brisbane

He has been interested ever since his early twenties in the possibility of an inner truth and has been a regular meditator since the 1970s. In 2009 he gave up teaching to pursue a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Queensland, gaining his doctorate in 2014. The title of his thesis was Examining Coincidences: towards an integrated approach. In 2017 this was turned into a book released by Imprint Academic, Exeter, U.K. under the title The Many Faces of Coincidence.

Over the last couple of years he has been particularly interested in the topic of coincidences in literature and has written two journal articles on the subject. The first of these, ‘Coincidence in Fiction and Literature’, was published in 2019 in the Australian Journal of Parapsychology.

Thomas J. Carey, a native Philadelphian, holds degrees from Temple University (B.S. in Business Administration) and California State University, Sacramento (M.A. in Anthropology) and also attended the University of Toronto’s Ph.D. Program in Anthropology.

An Air Force veteran who held a Top Secret/CRYPTO clearance, Tom is now a retired Philadelphia area businessman. He has been a MUFON State Section Directory, a Special Investigator for CUFOS and a member of the CUFOS board of directors. Tom began investigating aspects of the Roswell crash in 1991 and since 1998 he has teamed with Don Schmitt.

Tom has written more than 40 published articles about Roswell, has contributed to a number of books, not to mention having co-written a number of Roswell related books himself. The Stanford prison experiment (SPE) was a social psychology experiment that attempted to investigate the psychological effects of perceived power, focusing on the struggle between prisoners and prison officers. It was conducted at Stanford University on the days of August 14–20, 1971 by a research group led by psychology professor Philip Zimbardo using college students. In the study, volunteers were assigned to be either "guards" or "prisoners" by the flip of a coin, in a mock prison, with Zimbardo himself serving as the superintendent. Several "prisoners" left mid-experiment, and the whole experiment was abandoned after six days. Early reports on experimental results claimed that students quickly embraced their assigned roles, with some guards enforcing authoritarian measures and ultimately subjecting some prisoners to psychological torture, while many prisoners passively accepted psychological abuse and, by the officers' request, actively harassed other prisoners who tried to stop it. The experiment has been described in many introductory social psychology textbooks, although some have chosen to exclude it because its methodology is sometimes questioned.
