  • XZRS: Aired - 2010-01-22 - Jim Hickman - UFOs Are Real
JIM HICKMAN - UFOs Are Real - The truth is so hard to find… Since Biblical times man has witnessed and recorded strange manifestations in the sky and speculated on the possibilities of visitors from another world. Today, from the skies of California, the fields of Kansas, the rice patties of the Orient, the airlines of the world, come persistent reports of UFO's-Unidentified Flying Objects, which we have come to know as flying saucers. UFOs are real. 12,000+ case files reported to the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1968 of these, 701 are still classified as true unknowns. An extraordinary 95 percent of all Americans have at least heard or read something about Unidentified Flying Objects, and 57 percent believe they are real. Former US Presidents Carter and Reagan claim to have seen a UFO. At present, the United States government does not officially investigate UFO sightings. UFOs are unidentified flying objects, but no one really knows what they are. Many researchers have theories about what UFOs might be, but because no one can examine a UFO in a scientific laboratory, all of these ideas are really only educated guesses. 95 to 98% of all sightings can be easily explained by experts. We can offer a definition of UFOs, however, that you may find useful when you study the subject: A UFO is the reported sighting of an object or light seen in the sky or on land, whose appearance, trajectory, actions, motions, lights, and colors do not have a logical, conventional, or natural explanation, and which cannot be explained, not only by the original witness, but by scientists or technical experts who try to make a common sense identification after examining the evidence. UFOlogists-and private UFO organizations are found throughout the United States. Many are convinced that the US Government, and particularly CIA, are engaged in a massive conspiracy and cover-up of the issue. The idea that CIA has secretly concealed its research into UFOs has been a major theme of UFO buffs since the modern UFO phenomena emerged in the late 1940s. All kinds of people see UFOs. It does not matter whether you are rich or poor, educated or uneducated, young or old. In fact, many people who report seeing UFOs were not even looking for them when they had their sighting. The chances for seeing a UFO are greater for those people who live in small towns or in the country and are outside late at night. Although most of us have never seen a UFO personally, some colleagues of ours say that their interest in UFOs was sparked by seeing a UFO when they were children or young adults. Many UFO researchers argue that UFOs have appeared throughout history. There are many myths, legends, and stories that tell of strange things seen in the sky or beings who came from the sky to help humans develop civilization. Because modern scholars cannot directly check the facts of these stories, it is impossible to determine if these are accurate reports of true events. Caution should be taken when evaluating many UFO news items -you are encouraged to investigate and research information pertaining to UFOs or stories so that you may draw your own conclusions. - http://hickmanreport.angelfire.com

  • XZRS: Aired - 2010-01-21 - Sylvia Anthony - Sylvia's Haven
SYLVIA ANTHONY - Sylvia's Haven - Meet Sylvia Anthony and follow her trials, triumphs and successes in her new memoir, Sylvia's Haven. Named after the non-profit organization Anthony founded for poor, homeless and abused women and children. Sylvia's Haven serves s a testimonial of her life, faith and efforts to help others. Beginning with her birth in 1929 and continuing to the present day. Anthony recounts a painful childhood, divorce and the struggles she faced as a single mother. Sylvia's Haven candidly details the abuse Anthony witnessed and was subjected to growing up. She married at age 18, "This would prove to be a terrible mistake," she admits. Having been taught that a person should only be marry once, she stayed married for more than twelve years before divorcing. Ten years later, she remarried to a man named Rick, and her life changed dramatically. Anthony experienced what she calls a "miraculous intervention" after a near-fatal car accident and she and Rick became born-again Christians. Together, they were finally able to achieve her dream of opening a shelter for women and children. On January 25, 1987, Life for the Little Ones (LLO), Inc., was itself born. Rick began net-working among other Christian pro-life groups, introducing him and Sylvia, explaining what they planned to do. One of these groups was Pregnancy Help, a referral agency. It was a Catholic outreach group that would talk to desperate pregnant women and offer them a solution to their dilemma. Pregnancy Help would contact shelters that were willing to house and help them through their time of need. One such shelter was Friends of the Unborn. Rick and Sylvia visited the two-year-old operation and spoke at length with the owner. They were also given of the rules and regulations followed by Friends of the Unborn and the occupants of the homes. These would prove invaluable in the future. The foundation for LLO's shelter was now laid. Anthony details the many aspects of founding and maintaining Life for the Little Ones, which changed its name to Sylvia's Haven, Inc. in 1994. She also shares the pain of losing husband Rick to cancer just weeks after incorporating their shelter. Her friend Tony, a man she describes "love of my life," plays an important role throughout the book. Today at age 80, Sylvia Anthony still operates Sylvia's Haven, Inc., and to. date has housed 1034 women and children. For over 23 years, she has devoted her life to helping those less fortunate and overcome numerous obstacles along the way. She still continues her work. Find out more about Anthony and her unrelenting faith, inspiring life and selfless charity in the pages of Sylvia's Haven. - www.sylviashaven.org

  • XZRS: Aired - 2010-01-21 - Marilyn Zerby - Hellth Scare
MARILYN ZERBEY - HELL-th SCARE - HELL-th SCARE deals with the "Jerry Springer" like reality of healthcare. Fringe lunatic nurses, cheating co-workers, incompetent doctors, and management who act like mob bosses. The grim truth of dying patients with no quality of life left, whose "Living Wills" have been hijacked and nullified by relatives for purely selfish, greedy, or guilt driven reasons. Micro-managed policies that actually put patients at greater risk and the abuse found in nursing homes - of staff members. HELL-th SCARE presents a frank picture of what really takes place behind the scenes in the healthcare profession without "sugar coated" self-righteousness. Supervisors from hell, impaired co-workers (RNs, BSNs, MSNs, CNAs, etc), impostors masquerading as registered nurses, along with dangerous nurses who nearly kill their patients but are not fired due to hospital politics and/or policies. Marilyn Zerbey has been a registered nurse for over 16 years. Marilyn has worked in a variety of healthcare facilities, more so than many of my co-workers, from nursing homes to just about every floor a hospital has to offer. Each time she changed jobs, Marilyn sought to advance my knowledge and competence. This forward and upward motion has given her a unique opportunity to experience a wide range of patient care, and has given Marilyn great insight into the healthcare industry. Marilyn is currently working in a long-term critical care unit. Unfortunately, many of these patients will never go home, (not alive that is). Despite the nature of their bleak prognosis, she cherishes the fact that her inner strength gives her the power to provide these poor souls with the care they deserve. - www.hell-thscare.com
