Changing The Way We Die - There's a quiet revolution happening in the way we die. More than 1.5 million Americans a year die in hospice care—nearly 44 percent of all deaths—and a vast industry has sprung up to meet the growing demand. Once viewed as a New Age indulgence, hospice is now a $14 billion business and one of the most successful segments in health care. Changing the Way We Die, by award-winning journalists Fran Smith and Sheila Himmel, is the first book to take a broad, penetrating look at the hospice landscape, through gripping stories of real patients, families, and doctors, as well as the corporate giants that increasingly own the market. Changing the Way We Die is a vital resource for anyone who wants to be prepared to face life's most challenging and universal event. You will learn: — Hospice use is soaring, yet most people come too late to get the full benefits. — With the age tsunami, it becomes even more critical for families and patients to choose end-of-life care wisely. — Hospice at its best is much more than a way to relieve the suffering of dying. It is a way to live.

Secret Genealogy - Suellen Ocean believes that many American surnames were originally of Jewish descent. "There are millions of people out there who don't know who they descend from. Americans should reopen their family albums and look deeper into the meanings of names in their family trees and symbols in their coats of arms. Names like Levi, Jacob, Benjamin, Rebecca, Sarah, Ezekiel and Hester and symbols such as the lion may have been the last opportunity many parents had to lay claim to a heritage that stems back thousands of years." Does your Grandfather have an Old Testament Biblical name? If the author's hypothesis is correct, America was built on a much stronger Jewish foundation than what was originally thought by historians. You'll be fascinated with the origins of your surname and you'll comprehend the names of rivers and streams, oceans and continents in a different light, wondering... what do they really mean? Be prepared to let go of all your previous assumptions. Have fun with Suellen Ocean while she brainstorms through Secret Genealogy. - www.oceanhose.com

In many ways, Arbatel is unique among texts on magic. Unlike the vast majority of writings, it is clear, concise, and elegantly written. The practical instructions are straightforward and undemanding. When it first appeared in 1575, it attracted the attention of people with a surprisingly broad range of agendas, including some of the finest minds of the time. Often quoted and reprinted, both praised and condemned, its impact on western esoteric philosophy has been called "overwhelming." Arbatel's magic is full of wonder and free from the sinister elements usually associated with texts on the subject. But it is about more than magic; filled with gnomic wisdom, it urges us to help our neighbors, be positive and grateful, and use time wisely. Above all, it teaches us to pay attention, looking for the wondrous and miraculous. In fact, to the author this virtually defines the magus. Included are illustrations, bibliography, index, and original Latin text.
