On occasion one of the unorthodox religious cults makes the news and we get a brief glimpse into what goes on in their world. We rarely get the real inside story beyond the journalistic sensationalism. Joan Miller finally takes us deep into the life of just such an organization and shows just what can take place when a charismatic leader manipulates scripture to satisfy his own ends. But it doesn't end there. The first part of The Transformation of Joan Faith is about Joan's upbringing and her struggles with the abuses visited upon women and young girls. It is a fascinating and compelling story written with an even hand and lack of rancor. It is, in part, an expose of one such misguided religious organization. It is the second part of the book, however, that shows how Joan's faith was re-channeled, though the sheer power of vision, determination, and dependence on God into a positive endeavor for good. One that appears destined to help countless children survive and prosper. It addresses in detail the five basic needs of children: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and financial health, and shows how she is proceeding to provide them. Joan's life work, Faith Works, is a labor of love and grace. The Health Project is clearly described and beckons the support of all who catch its vision of healthy, happy people contributing positively to our society. It is detailed from inspiration to practice, with a healthy serving of the uplifting belief that has transformed Joan into who she is today. In its totality, The Transformation of Joan Faith is an illustrated guide map for taking charge of life and overcoming the past to create a better future for self and others. - www.faithworksmedia.com

Almost 150 years since the original version of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" was penned by Charles Dodgson under the name Lewis Carroll, the satire and whimsy continue. In 2010, poor Alice does not fall down a rabbit hole into Oxford, England, but into "Obamaland" where "logic" is as baffling as it was in 1865. Join her as she shrinks to a "smaller footprint" size and discovers the nonshrinking Algore, the Congress of Knaves, the illogical Stimulus plan, job creation in reverse, the Obamaland energy policy and the Red Queen's trial of the King's spies! Jane Russell is an artist and political activist. She started the first immigration reform group in Georgia and was a leader in that movement for ten years. - www.teetotum-press.com

Patrick Heron was born in Dublin in 1952. When he was 24 years old, he had a "Saul on the road to Damascus" type of epiphany while reading the Bible. Thus began his Christian walk. He became interested in bible prophecy concerning the "end times" about 1996. In 1997, his first book Apocalypse Soon was published and became a bestseller in Ireland. It entered the Irish bestsellers list after an interview with Gareth O'Callaghan, on RTE radio, who said he "read it in one sitting and was gripped." Another book The Apocalypse Generation was also a success. There has recently been amazing interest to-date in this new book The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse, published by Kensington Publishing, which Patrick believes is the FIRST EVER book proving overwhelmingly who built the pyramids and why. Patrick has a B.Sc. and M.A. in Business Studies from Trinity College, Dublin. He also holds a Degree in Theology and recently received an Honorary Doctorate in Christian Literature from the California Pacific School of Theology, Glendale, California, as a result of the research done in his book, The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse (Kensington Publishing). This has been shown all over the United States and is currently available on DVD in stores nationwide. Patrick owns and runs his own company in Dublin, Ireland, where he lives with his family. Jim Berkland is a geologist studying earthquake prediction. He claims to have developed a method for predicting earthquakes, and offers his predictions through media appearances and publications. Before his retirement, Berkland worked for the U.S. Geological Survey, the Bureau of Reclamation and Santa Clara County, California. He has published over fifty scientific papers. Jim Berkland studied geology at the University of California, Berkeley, earning the B.A. degree in 1958. Thereafter he worked for the U.S. Geological Survey while pursuing graduate study. In 1964, he took a position at the Bureau of Reclamation. After further graduate study, he taught for a year at Appalachian State University 1972-73, then returned to California to work as County Geologist for Santa Clara County from 1973 until he retired in 1994. In an interview published on October 13, 1989, one day before the start of Baseball's 1989 World Series, Berkland predicted a major earthquake would occur in the San Francisco Bay Area in the near future. The Loma Prieta earthquake occurred on October 17, just before the start of the third game of the Series. Berkland claims that government officials told him not to make any more predictions, fearing mass panic, and he was suspended for two months from his Santa Clara County geology position in late October, 1989. Berkland predicted an earthquake for January 9-14, 2009. Interviewed on Fox News in March 2011, Berkland predicted an earthquake for some time between March 19 and March 26, 2011. He cited as factors the highest tides in 18 years and the proximity of the moon, suggesting that the quake will most likely strike on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Berkland has issued over 50 publications in geology. He is a member of the Association of Engineering Geologists, the Peninsula Geological Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America, and has taught geology at San Jose State University. - www.syzygyjob.com
