Sometimes little things happen, sometimes big things happen, and sometimes it's just life, to cause a family not to be close.  One minute you have plenty of time, the next minute you're at their funeral. 

Celibacy should be something temporary until a person is ready to be sexually active again after a bad relationship or marriage. It should never be a permanent lifestyle! 

When you're looking for that special someone to marry, observe their families because you're getting married to them too.

Is there a good enough reason that would justify a person in leaving their family?

There is nothing wrong with doing everything you can do for your kids.  However, is that something that should last forever?  Will they sacrifice for you when you need it?
