This episode continues our deep dive into identity, and more specifically, what it actually looks like to choose your identity on purpose.
Earlier in the week, we focused on observation. Just noticing. Taking stock of what you’ve collected over time, the habits, the thought patterns, the beliefs, the strengths, and the things that might not be serving you.
Now we’re shifting into something more intentional.
Choosing who you want to be.
And here’s where this gets different from how most people approach change.
Instead of taking action and hoping you eventually believe in yourself, this is about deciding first. Choosing your identity now, before you feel “ready,” and then allowing your actions, habits, thoughts, and behaviors to reinforce that choice over time.
We also talk about why focusing only on your flaws can keep you stuck, and how building on your existing strengths creates a completely different experience. There’s a version of “comfort” that comes from avoidance, but there’s also a version of comfort that feels like alignment, flow, and energy. Learning to recognize the difference is a big part of this process.
This episode also dives into:
Why imposter syndrome happens and how to break out of it
The role of ownership in creating lasting change
Why you can’t force yourself into change before you’re ready
How your past versions of yourself still show up and why you need to meet them with compassion, not resistance
Why identity work is ongoing, not something you “complete”
This is about rewriting your story, not by ignoring your past, but by integrating it.
Because it’s not a “new you.”
It’s you, choosing differently, on purpose.
