Stephanie Daniel is an elementary school physical educator. Stephanie played Division 2 NCAA Soccer at California University of Pa and has been coaching and teaching ever since. Stephanie's story is unique in that she moved with her family all over the place due to her husband's military assignments. I'd like to thank Omar McPherson for having a serious conversation with me about many things in this chat, but especially, our main topic: racism in sport.

Omar has a really cool story about coming to the United States from Clarendon, Jamaica to pursue his love of soccer and to get an education. Omar played soccer at California University of PA, coached and worked at Cal and now coaches youth soccer in the State of California!

I listened to our conversation a few times after the fact, because each time I did, I picked up on something new that Omar said. I really hope that this episode inspires you to go and have your own conversation about how we can make an impact on youth athletes, and have, as Omar puts it, "exponential" positive change in their environment.

Paul Ranger is not just an amazing athlete, he's an amazing person. Paul left the NHL leaving everyone wondering why. In 2019 he shared his story with TSN to address why he left hockey and the seriousness of mental health issues in order to help others. I check in with Paul to see how he's doing now.

This conversation was had with kids in mind. Paul wants to make sure that a kid knows the signs and symptoms of mental health issues so that they can be proactive in their own life.

Fred Zinkie is a high school teacher/coach by day and professional sports writer by night! Fred gave me some really good reasons why a high-school football program is a great thing. We discuss football culture and how kids should navigate social media carefully.
