The Youth Work Podcast

YWIC (Youth Working in Communities) is a leadership program that has been running for 15 years, hundreds of young people have came through the program, many going on to gain professional qualifications in Youth Work and many more stating that YWIC was a major influence on their journey in life.

The LIVE podcast chatted to past and current YWIC members as well as staff members about the YWIC program and the impact it has had on them.

The final podcast recorded at Youth Conference 2024 at Ganaway Activity, (apparently East Belfast). Young People from Cregagh Youth Centre and North Belfast Area Project.

Some lovely insights from the young people and a great experience for all involved.

Part 2 of 3 of podcasts recorded at Youth Conference 2024, mixture of Ligoniel and Tigers Bay young people, Barney the Dog gets a mention. Great fun !

This 1 of 3 podcast we recorded down in Youth Conference, we had the lads in From Glencairn and Mountainhill talking about their experience. Always the best of laughs with this crew.

For the first episode of journeys in youth work, we have Jeannine who is leader in charge of Mountcollyer Youth Centre, Sarah Louise who is an area worker in north Belfast and Justine who is a senior youth worker again in north Belfast.

We tried to keep it as youth work as possible, some really nice reflections on their journey, who inspired them, important moments and good memories that have brought them to the point they are at in their careers in youth work.

In this episode we have young people from John Paul 2 youth club and North Belfast Area Project discussing their trip to India

In this podcast we have a few of the group discussing the youth leadership program YWIC, how they got involved and what its all about !

This podcast was recorded in 2019 with a group of young people from North Belfast who had just completed building a positive mental health garden.
