In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, Paul is again explaining the rapture to this congregation, probably because they received a letter leading them astray. I don't know if it was signed with Paul's name but it was a fake. So once again, Paul reassures them that the Day of The Lord is in the future and that good will prevail and God will make right all the injustices and wrongs.

Here Paul is telling the Thessalonian Congregation that the letter they received was false and not to believe false prophets. Paul once again informs them about the rapture. Hopefully this was cleared up for you too!  He goes on to praise them for walking with Jesus during their hard times.

So, again, Paul explains about the rapture and the timing of it.

He requests the believers to put on the Armor of God and to pray without ceasing. That is, pray in all circumstances not only in emergencies.

In this chapter Paul gives believers of today and yesterday God's Will and the requirements of sanctification to follow. He continues to encourage you to walk properly in your walk with Jesus. He stresses that others will be watching you so they can criticize. Paul goes on to describe the believer's grief. 

This week we reviewed Chapters 1 and 2 with Vicki. We went into the study of Chapter 3. Here Paul could no longer stand not knowing the state of faith of the Thessalonians so he sent Timothy. Verse 11 confirms the deity of Jesus Christ as well as verify that there's more than one person in the Godhead. This chapter ends with a reference to the rapture.

In Chapter two Paul is insisting on how he and the other two apostles brought the Gospel to them without requesting any help of the Thessalonians. He also states they are their glory and joy.

The apostles accepted the Thessalonian believers as young ones in Christ. However, these believers suffered the same persecutions as the congregation in Judeah.

Paul's accomplishment in Thessalonica was significant. He was undeterred by his Philippian experience and preached the Gospel. Paul wished to make it back to these believers but was detained. However, there were many converts who wanted to be like him and want to see his return. Those who responded to Paul and converted were Jews. They were God fearing, loved each other and was full of hope.
