This week we've got a couple horror movies, two historical pieces (sort of), and a movie about teens with telekinetic powers. Do good movies need to have happy endings? We also report back on some of our recent picks, now that we've had a chance to see them in the theater.

This week we've got movies from an actress who hates movies, an actor who can't show emotion (don't hold Avatar against him), and someone who may or may not be a tough guy. We also have a bit of a blow up about a musical from the past, Moulin Rouge.

Our Picks for January 27, 2012

We're finally seeing some good movies coming back to the theaters this week. Join us as we look at some action movies, a Shakespeare story, and one or two that will play with your emotions. Also, Brad gives us an introduction to the genre of time travel movies.

Money. Movies in 3-D. There are a couple good movies this week we're looking forward to. Somehow we end up talking about books again. Brad saw Limitless & The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo so we spend some time talking about both of those. Also, Jason hates seeing the messes inevitably left at the end of most horror movies.

There's not much coming out this week so we talk about the movies we're most looking forward to in 2012. There are some really exciting movies on the way so join us today.

Our Favorite Movies of 2011

Jason can't read. Brad's a giant nerd. Poor, poor Tom Cruise & Cameron Crowe. Who's got an accurate list of new releases? Sometimes you need to just let some movies wash over you. Money! When Brad watches a trailer, he doesn't like feeling like he's just seen the entire movie. Piracy is not stealing.

Our Picks for December 21ish, 2011

We had Skype issues. Sorry. Finally talk about some Christmas movies. Brad eats three pumpkin pies every year. "I was going more for Valentine's Day stuff which was going to make me want to jab myself in the eye with a fork." What is Jason Lee thinking? "I'm really sorry that this whole franchise is now ruining your entire childhood." Sherlock Holmes!

Brad and Jason lament the fact that there's no holiday celebrating time travel. It's still too early to talk about Christmas movies. "Don't question me on my Thor lore, dude." Hollywood would stop making crappy movies if the American public stopped watching them. Leonardo DiCaprio should maybe stick to simpler roles. Jason likes movies with bad endings.

Brad and Jason are pretty disappointed in this week's selection. Brad reports on Twilight. A bad Nicholas Sparks movie doesn't mean it's actually good. "I don't need to watch anybody else's life go out of control." Brad threatens Jason with bodily harm. Jason explains what a drive-in movie theater is. They were duped by IMDb.
