  • Jon Frolick – A Life In Music
Jon Frolick – A Life In Music

Jon Frolick attended Bawating High School in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, during the 1970s. Under the tutelage of Mr. Frank Elliott, it was there that the power of music as a working life took root. Of local fame, Jon drove the backbeat for the horn band, Pegasus. With graduation behind him he soon after made his way to Winnipeg where he carved out a professional career start in the music industry. Four years later, he made a move further west to Calgary and the music and the work just kept coming.

Now, a long-time resident of Canmore, Alberta, Jon is the drummer and vocalist with his popular dance band Suzie Q, since 1994. He also drums in the Jazz Plus Trio, and when requested as is often the case to play without the band, it’s “Just Jon”, solo musician.

Jon has now been a professional in the music industry for over 40 years, working primarily as a drummer leading two music groups that perform in the corporate entertainment market throughout North America. As a musician, he has extensive recording experience, and also offers drum instruction both as a private teacher and clinician.

It is a very impressive list of artists that Jon has recorded and/or performed with. Some of the names include Randy Bachman, Kim Mitchell, Steven Bell, Amy Grant, George Fox, and the legendary Tony Bennett.

Jon is a proud member of the American Federation of Music and a past president of the Calgary Musicians Association. He also works as a professional audio technician and instructor, providing support for concerts, festivals, conventions and community events throughout Canada and the U.S.

    Elizabeth Creith

Host Lisa Tucker has humour writer Elizabeth Creith on the show.

In Elizabeth’s own words: I’m an award-winning writer living and working in rural Northern Ontario with my husband, dog and cat.

I write fiction, poetry and non-fiction articles, with a special interest in the pet trade.

Writing services include proofreading, ghostwriting, manuscript evaluation and line editing. Do you need a proposal, a pitch, or just some proofreading? I can do that for you.

I had a long career freelancing for CBC radio, which taught me the importance of making deadlines. I’ve never missed a writing deadline yet!

The business of writing is a fascinating one. Every project is different, every client’s needs specific and separate from those of any other client. I love finding the right words for my clients, or helping them polish the text they already have with a comma here and a change in sentence structure there. Every time I deal with a new industry or a new subject, I learn something – sometimes quite a lot – about it, which is also part of the joy of this work.

Talk to me about what I can do for you and your project.

Sault Star district correspondent Elizabeth Creith writes about the lighter side of rural living.
