This morning we had a very special guest. Deandre Warren, an Officer with the Wynne Police Department, spoke to us about pulling down strongholds to be the bridge, and said it starts with the strongholds in our minds. He said if the enemy can get in your mind, he can get your whole body. As Believers we find ourselves sometimes walking in the flesh, but we must do our best to walk in the Spirit. If we are going to pull down strongholds to be the Bridge, we must recognize who we are, and that our true identity is Spirit and not flesh. He added that those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Today we continue our study of the book of Jonah, and as Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through chapter 3, there are 3 things that he wants us to see in this passage: (1) Jesus is constantly pursuing every person with His mercy; (2) In breaking down the king's decree we see that the king called the entire community to pray and repent together. We have a responsibility to cry out to God on behalf of our community; and (3) Genuine salvation costs nothing and everything at the same time.
We don't get Jesus the Savior without Jesus the King.

Today Pastor Dustin Clegg continues in our series based on the life of Jonah. Today we see that Jonah is "Saved by the Bell....y".

Today Pastor Dustin Clegg continues looking at Jonah and points out that, like Jonah, there is sometimes a gap in what we say and how we live. He asks us to consider the gap in what we say about Jesus and what we do with our life. The end goal of the justice of God that believers experience here is mercy and grace. Where are you in the story of Jonah?

We begin a new series today as Pastor Dustin Clegg looks at the life of Jonah. Big Rebel, Big Fish, Bigger God starts with Jonah 1:1-6, and we see that rebellion against God's commands (1) leads to rejection of God's presence; (2) invites wrath on us and all those connected to us; and (3) can seem like justified anger against evil. Dustin also makes two points: (1) we are surrounded by Ninovites; and (2) God in His rightness and justness condemns all sin as evil. How can we apply this to our daily lives? Obey God for the purpose of having God.

Dalton Yates, who is interning at The Bridge this summer, finishes up the Sermon on the Mount with a very insightful look at The Lord's Prayer. Dalton walks us through Matthew 6:5-15 and points out that every part of the Lord's Prayer humbles us, but it also comforts us and points us directly to Christ. He gave us one application: When you pray, remind yourself of the Gospel - - who you are, who God is, and what God has done for you. Katie Weaver, our other summer intern, finished up our gathering by walking us through the observance of the Lord's Supper.

Today Pastor Kirk Owens picks up the Sermon on the Mount as we look at Matthew 7:7-27. We explore The Golden Rule and see how even when we want to do the Golden Rule, we can't without Jesus. What does it mean to enter through the wide gate or the narrow gate? Kirk warns us to beware of false prophets who come to us through the TV, Social Media, Internet, or in person, and not to let the things or these people confuse us. Enter through the narrow gate.

Today we continue our study of the Sermon on the Mount as we look at Matthew 6:33 - 7:6. Pastor Dustin Clegg gives us 3 observations to consider: (1) Judgmentalism is a respectable and even praised sin in our culture, but denounced and condemned by Jesus; (2) Judgmentalism is not the same as having sound judgement; and (3) On some issues it is possible for us to disagree, and each of us be acceptable to God. Dustin offers 3 ways we can apply this passage to our lives: (1) Hate your own sin worse; (2) Cling to your convictions humbly; and (3) Never walk away from what you have experienced in Jesus.

Today we continue with our walk through The Sermon on The Mount as we look at Matthew 6:19-34, and explore what Jesus has to say about anxiety. Pastor Dustin Clegg makes 3 observations: (1) Money and possessions can cloud the way we view the world; (2) Money, food, clothes, etc. make great servants, but terrible masters; and (3) Jesus will take care of His children. How can we apply this passage to our lives today? (1) Serve Jesus, seek His Kingdom, and don't worry; and (2) Don't settle for faulty thinking.

Pastor Dustin Clegg continues walking us through the Sermon on the Mount as we look at Matthew 6: 1-8, 16-18. We observe that (1) we have to redefine hypocrisy, that (2) Jesus is not preaching against public displays of our faith, and that (3) people should see us living for Jesus, but we cannot only live for Jesus when others see us. Our public life has to align with our private life. Dustin gave us 3 applications for our lives: (1) Check your motives on everything; (2) Be genuine; and (3) Always live for Jesus only.
