Isn’t that crazy? So now you might ask where all this money is going or how does a college bringing in millions of dollars just ends up losing all the money. So why do people play sports in high schools? One might say “To get a scholarship” or “I want to make it to the pros”. We get it. Everyone who’s played a sport has at least one time thought of going pro. So let’s say you get the scholarship to go to one of these top D1 schools. Are you academically prepared to go there? These top colleges out there like Boston College, Brown University, University of Michigan. The students who get in these schools academically are people who have taken over 8 plus AP classes. They’re academically prepared. On the other hand, there’s the athletes who get in because of their athletic talent.
