She is super hero by day, fighting for the rights of the underserved, an amazing photographer, lover of amazingly good music (she and not my own mother (How could you mother!?!?) was the person to put me on to Otis Redding), is a true animal lover (those with four legs and wings) and has a magical green thumb. No really. Her garden is full of plants, flowers, fast moving birds, and magic.

She is a college professor here in San Diego and we discuss her journey from a home where both parents battled addiction, to her attending one of the most prestigious universities in the country all the way to her teaching at one. We will also discuss her dream of being the worlds first black female surf champ (spoiler alert, she doesn't surf at all). This podcast was recorded live at The Dojo cafe in City Heights.
