Why do Catholics confess their sins to a priest? In this episode I ask a couple of the questions I asked to Catholics when I was Protestant. I give the biblical support for the sacrament, and detail how the early church dealt with sin and confession. Bottom line is the sacrament is awesome and was practiced from the beginning of the church.

After calling mtthew to be his disciple, Jesus and the disciples have a meal with "tax collectors and sinners". This draws the critical eye of the Pharisees.

Jesus calls Matthew to be his disciple. Likewise, he calls us as well.

Jesus heals the paralyzed man to show the Pharisees that he has the authority to forgive sin. Since the forgiveness of sins cannot be verified by witnesses, Jesus performs a healing that can be verified.

People carry a paralyzed man to Jesus and Jesus forgives his sins. The scribes and Pharisees accuse him of blasphemy.

After healing the two demon possessed men, Jesus returns to him own town of Capernaum.

In this first episode I discuss my conversion to the catholic church. From my Christian beginnings, thru seminary, and my eventual reversion. It is great to be home!

Today we finish Matthew chapter 8, and we do so with Jesus driving out demons from two men. He orders the demons into a herd of pigs.

Jesus encounters two men possessed by demons. Even the demons acknowledge the divinity of Christ.
