As I heard the news of lava flows destroying homes in Hawaii, it got me thinking ... what are the chances of a volcano erupting near me. And it turns out the answer was a bit scarier than I was anticipating. But as learn more about volcanoes the trepidation can turn to fascination as there is so much to learn about these geological features and this episode just scratches the surface.
