He notices that the people of Athens are very spiritual and even worship “unknown gods.” In Paul’s address he points them to the real God, the one true source of all life.
This episode, titled “What Sits on the Throne of Your Heart,” looks at this powerful and profound passage. An ambitious one for me to take on, but excited to share it with you.

In this episode, we’re talking about how to develop a hunger and a fire for God — especially when life is busy, and spiritual appetites are low. Our hunger is our responsibility. When we constantly fill up on distractions — even things that seem important — we lose our appetite for what truly nourishes us. Just like eating junk food can ruin your hunger for a healthy meal, a heart filled with noise won’t crave the stillness of His presence. What we sow grows.

So I read from the parable of the sower — a story Jesus told about how the condition of our hearts, like soil, determines whether the seeds of God’s truth can take root or not.

Have you ever worked tirelessly toward a goal, only to realise the cost was too high? Maybe your relationships suffered, or you ended up feeling drained and exhausted.

In this episode on surrender, Lisa explores how waiting on God’s perfect timing leads to blessings that enrich our lives without added sorrow. She shares how, once we experience the presence of Jesus, the things we once clung to—whether a career, a relationship, the need for validation, or our own expectations—begin to lose their grip on us in the light of His presence, a far more secure and lasting source of hope.

She illustrates this through the story of Moses. Feeling God’s call on his life, Moses took matters into his own hands and stepped outside of God’s timing. As a result, he was forced to flee into the wilderness, where he spent 40 years in exile. Then, in a powerful encounter, God appears to him in a burning bush and calls him back to his purpose. By this time, Moses has been humbled by life—he no longer sees himself as capable or qualified to fulfill God’s calling. Yet, it’s precisely in this state of humility that God moves most powerfully, using Moses to perform miracles, signs, and wonders.

This story reminds us that God’s greatest work is never accomplished by our own strength. When the time is right, He Himself will bring His plans to pass.

In Part two of our Breaking Free episode, we dive into the first thing Jesus tells the lame man He heals at the pool of Bethesda: “Your sins are forgiven.” Lisa gets personal, sharing a moment when she realized that true repentance doesn’t glorify what we’ve been forgiven of—it turns us in the opposite direction. She unpacks how our faith and belief in God’s forgiveness are reflected in the way we live. She closes with a powerful reminder: when God asks us to leave something behind, it’s because He has something new for us to step into. 

In the first part of a two-part series on transformation, Lisa unpacks Jesus’ command to the lame man at the pool of Bethesda: “Pick up your mat and walk.” She gets real about her own journey, sharing practical ways we can take action when God calls us to change—whether that means letting go of old habits, stepping into new opportunities, and surrounding ourselves with people who will encourage and support change. Lisa reminds us that the struggles we’ve faced aren’t wasted—God often uses them to shape your testimony and be an example to others walking a similar path. She closes by sharing how setting aside daily time with Jesus—even when sticking to her 5 a.m. routine has been tough—has been the key for real, lasting transformation.

In this second part of my conversation with my big sister Malika, we dive into what it means to share in the sufferings of Christ and how that shapes our lives. We also explore how to walk the walk of faith, even in moments when we feel faithless. If the journey of faith depends on hearing God’s voice, how do we recognize when He speaks. She also shares insights about trusting God’s timing for His promises, navigating the waiting seasons, and the miraculous transformation that happens when you give your life to Jesus—both the instant breakthroughs and the slower, deeper work He does over time.

There is a belief in the world today that God lives in all of us. The truth is that God wants to live in all of us but, whether or not He does, is a choice you get to make. This episode culminates a three-part discussion on why God wants to live inside of you and, how that supernatural reality becomes possible. Lisa also shares her story of how she struggled with the thought of holiness and how, the Spirit of Christ within us takes us on a miraculous journey of transformation that otherwise seems impossible.
