Five tips to pray like Jabez.

1. Praise God for who He is.

2. Ask God to give you a heart for evangelism.

3. Acknowledge God's power and reign.

4. Pray for God to guard our hearts for His protection from every evil.

5. Pray for everything in Jesus' name.

“Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!’ And God granted what he asked” (1 Chronicles 4:10)

“…the clans of scribes who lived at Jabez:” (1 Chronicles 2:55)

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 1:20)

Jabez prayed for four things:

1. That God would bless him

2. That God would enlarge his territory

3. That God’s hand might be with him

4. That God would keep him from evil

Prayer changes things!

Psalm 34:4
"I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears."

Psalm 55:22
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved."

An example from the Bible is in John 11:45, where after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, many people who witnessed it believed in Him. The news of this miracle spread, becoming "the talk of the town."

When we declare that "God's work is going to be the talk of the town," we anticipate something extraordinary that will glorify God and remind people of His active role in the world.

For Belivers, scriptures like Philippians 4:6-7 ("Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.") emphasize prayer's role in fostering peace and reliance on God.
