It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Kirill Kaprisov's contract situation in Minnesota, Mattias Ekholm wanting an extension, Oilers rookie camp, and much more.

We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not the Kirill Kaprisov situation in Minnesota is affecting the Connor McDavid negotiations. According to reports, Kaprisov turned down a $16 million, eight-year contract, which led to speculation about whether this decision is delaying McDavid's extension signing in Edmonton. That conversation led to another round of the boys talking about whether they're starting to get nervous about the captain taking his time.

Turning the podcast to tonight's rookie game between the Oilers and Flames, the guys walked through some of the prospects everyone is most excited to watch. While all eyes will be on Matt Savoie and Ike Howard, there are other prospects worth following throughout the weekend, as they work their way into professional hockey. The guys also shared their thoughts on the leaked alternate jerseys that hit the web this past week, and brought in a bunch of people from the office to provide their takes as well. 

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. With just under a month to wait until the start of the 2025-26 season, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode discussing a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s what happens before training camps kick off.
