In episode 5, Mandy asks Michelle about how an ayahuasca ceremony Jake experienced in February led to an intentional 60 day marital separation in August and September of this year.  The idea of marital separation tends to carry a negative connotation, but does it have to?  What if we rethought it, and used separation as a tool to heal individually intending to reunite free from old patterns you simply can't break when you're together 24/7?

When we get married, we believe we're marrying the person we've just dated, but we're marrying the version we perceive on our wedding day, as well as all future versions of them!  If only we'd known this going in!  

What a year of destabilization!  We found ourselves in situation after situation for which we DID NOT have the tools!  We've gone through so much change and growth during our year here in Ecuador, and we head back to Kentucky in six days!  We're both feeling crazy inside!

Ahhh...unmet expectations...they happen regularly but we often bury them down, sidestep them, avoid them, all of the things lol.  It's okay to admit you're disappointed!  Let's give ourselves permission to embrace and process it.

Michelle and I have been "dark" for nearly three years.  We've undergone massive changes in location (a move to South America), vocation, energy, culture, parenting, consciousness, and we've been healing many wounds from the past.  A few months ago we both felt we were ready to start sharing again with the right motives....we can't wait to embark on therethinking life with whomever jumps on board....episode 1 baby!
